課程簡介
本課程從長時段、跨領域的視野，探究中國史上的醫學、宗教與療癒之關係。藉由九場專題講座，講者將分論近代以前的醫藥政治、宗教（含佛教、道教、巫術、蠱毒）醫療、醫學知識中的性/別建構，以及近代解剖學、精神醫學和精神分析等議題。醫學與宗教的終極目標，在於追求身心療癒與生命不朽。在全球疫情未歇之際，探討這些課題的歷史演變，兼具理論與現實意義，有助於思辨前人與疾病和苦痛抗爭所累積的經驗與智慧。
In longue durée and border-crossing perspectives, this course will explore the relationship between medicine, religions and healings in Chinese history. By nine seminars the topics to be discussed include medicine and politics, religious healings (of Buddhism, Daoism, Shamanism and gu-poisoning), sexual/gender aspects of medical knowledge, anatomy, psychiatry and psychoanalysis in premodern and modern times. Medicine and religion are primarily aimed at body-mind healings and pursuits of immortal life. Studies of these topics in historical evolutions under the threat of the Pandemic reveal both theoretical and practical significance. They will help to speculate human beings’ experiences and wisdom for struggles with diseases and suffering.
