近代東亞史文獻解析與應用/Analysis of Modern East Asian History Documents
The Meiji Restoration not only transformed Japan into a modern nation-state but also exerted a profound influence on the political developments of East Asia. This course focuses on visual and documentary materials related to key figures in Japan’s modern history, particularly in areas such as party politics, colonial administration, and education. By examining the lives and careers of these figures, students will gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s modern history. At the same time, through the analysis of historical sources, students will be guided to identify critical questions, reconsider the roles of these historical figures, and further reflect on how the Meiji Restoration should be situated and discussed within the broader history of East Asia.
