本課程很榮幸能邀請德國埃爾朗根-紐倫堡大學漢學系朗宓榭（Michael Lackner）講座教授擔任主講。朗宓榭教授為國際知名漢學家，也是德國國家科學院院士。朗教授是中國思想史、中西文化交流史專家，治學門類廣博，包括耶穌會士來華工作、宋明理學、晚清外來語和中國傳統卜算術數等。中文流利並精通德、英、意、法、西班牙和拉丁文等多國語言。
這次協同授課另有兩位中央研究院學者：一位是史語所張谷銘教授，張教授專長即在近代歐洲科學與醫學史、人文學史、比較philology歷史，全球高等教育研究等。另一位是近代史研究所張哲嘉教授，目前研究關注課題有東亞法醫知識從傳統到近代的轉型、以及泰西解剖學漢譯所呈現的思想文化脈絡。
