I. Admissions
i) Regular students: Students who are enrolled in National Chengchi University and selected the relevant courses through the campus course selection system.
ii) Inter-campus students: Domestic students who are not from National Chengchi University, and selected the relevant courses through the inter-campus course selection system.
iii) Foreign short-term students: Students from foreign universities who applied for to take the short-term courses with the consent of NCCU College of Liberal Arts, or accompanied with the international courses’ faculties who were invited to come to Taiwan. After the course completion, certificate of course study hours will be issued. The requirements for attendance are the same as those for regular students (attendance, reports, etc.), and the final grade will be assessed by the course’s faculty.
iv) Audience: Everyone can register through official website and choose their own session to attend the classes.
*Foreign short-term students who enrolled in this program, and have not received any scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or other government agencies (Excluding in-campus & off-campus overseas Chinese students, mainland Chinese students, international degree students, and international exchange students)
II. Application and Fee
i) Regular students (Including in-campus overseas Chinese students, mainland Chinese students, and foreign students): Please follow the course selection procedures to apply for the relevant course. The credit fee will be added to current semester credit fee.
ii) Inter-campus students: Please follow the domestic inter-campus course selection procedure to apply for the relevant course.
iii) Foreign short-term students: No application fee* (For details, please refer to V. Scholarship for Foreign Short-term Students), You may apply to the course coordinator according to the schedule of each course announcement until the course is full.
iii) Audience: Please fill out the application form within the time limit announced for each course. We will send an email to inform you if your registration is success.
III. Course Completion
Attend the course and submit a report at the end of the term
i) Regular students: In accordance to the course selection procedures, students’ grade will be presented on their transcripts after course completion
ii) Inter-campus students: Register a student ID in accordance to the inter-campus course selection procedures, and log in to the system to print out the inter-campus course selection application. Students’ transcript will be sent to the students’ campus academic affairs division in accordance with inter-campus course selection procedures.
iii) Foreign short-term students: Issuance of certificates of course study hours.
IV. Others
i) Participating students are required to fill out a course feedback questionnaire at the end of each course.
ii) By registering your application, you agree to provide relevant information for checking, announcing acceptance, reporting and acceptance to the relevant course. Please inform us before applying in you do not agree with the foregoing.
iii) Foreign short-term students will need to submit a copy of your student ID card and passport.
iv) Foreign short-term students’ insurance:Please be sure to purchase medical and accident insurance prior to your arrival in Taiwan. Your insurance should cover your medical and hospital expenses for illness or accident during your stay, immediate payment for medical or hospitalization expenses will be needed if you are receiving treatment in Taiwan.
v) Foreign short-term students will be free of tuition fee, and scholarship* (For details, please refer to V. Scholarship for Foreign Short-term Students) will be also given to subsidize the cost of accommodation and insurance in Taiwan.
V. Scholarship for Foreign Short-term Students
i) Subsidy Target: Foreign short-term students who are enrolled in courses of this program (Hong Kong and Macau students included), the student must not have received any scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or other government agencies. (Not eligible for Mainland Chinese students, exchange students, and in-campus & off-campus overseas Chinese students, mainland Chinese students, and foreign students)
ii) Scholarship for foreign short-term students:
The daily subsidy received by a short-term foreign student during the course (including the day before class and holidays) may not exceed NT$ 2,000; The daily subsidy received by the same foreign student for different courses is limited to once only.
iii) The related subsidies are subject to the University’s budget for that year.
iv) The number of days of attendance to the course (including the day before class and holidays) will be used as the basis for the awarding scholarship.
VI. Regulations Regarding Distance Learning for Foreign Short-term Students
i) From 2020 onwards, in order to maintain the international interactions in the face of the epidemic, we will continue to invite international scholars to offer their lectures & international courses via remote video, foreign short-term students are welcome to take the course via distance learning.
ii) Foreign short-term students who take the courses via remote video are also treated as regular students, attendance will be required, and course assignments need to be submitted in accordance to course faculty.
iii) No fee will be needed for Foreign short-term students who take the courses via remote video, and a certificate of course completion will be issued. However, since there is no actual participation in the program in Taiwan due to epidemic, no scholarship will be given.
